Adverse Reaction Reporting (Yellow Card)
No medication whether veterinary or human is 100% safe, there is always a risk and that is why it is so important that your vet examines your pet at regular intervals to determine the suitability to continue on certain medications. These check ups may include blood tests or other investigations.
However, when adverse reactions do occur it is really important that the veterinary medicines directorate (VMD) know about it. The VMD compile all reported reactions in an effort to detect trends that may need investigation.
So if your animal has an adverse reaction or a medication doesn't work you can report it to the VMD via their "Yellow Card" reporting system here.
